Safari Bayahíbe
4x4 à travers villages de montagne, rivières et exploitations locales — la campagne dominicaine authentique.
Catalina is a 10km² marine park about an hour off the coast of La Romana. It’s less famous than Saona, which is exactly why you should go — fewer boats, clearer water, and the Catalina Wall is one of the most colorful drop-off reefs in the Dominican Republic.
The day starts with a boat crossing from Bayahíbe (about 40 minutes), then we anchor at La Pared — a reef edge where the seafloor drops from 3 to 30 meters. Snorkel gear is included; our guide leads you along the wall so you see the most fish (parrotfish, sergeant majors, the occasional moray in the rocks).
After snorkeling we move to the Baños de Marena beach on the island — soft white sand, calm water, and a Caribbean buffet served under the palms. Open bar runs until we head back in the late afternoon.
Good for beginners — the snorkel section has a shallow reef too — and great for couples or small groups. Pickups available from Bayahíbe, La Romana, Bávaro and Punta Cana.
