A Taste of the Real Country (Half-Day)
If you’re staying in Juan Dolió or Boca Chica and only have a half-day, this is the tour. We don’t drive you across the country — we head straight into the sugar-cane towns just north of the highway and show you the real thing.
Pickup from your hotel in the morning, then an open 4×4 heads north through cane fields and small Dominican villages. We stop at a typical rural house for coffee and cocoa tasting, and then at a small rum distillery where the family explains how local rum is made.
Lunch is short but authentic — rice, beans, chicken, ensalada — served at a family restaurant. Then back down to the coast with a stop at a natural river pool if weather allows.
Good for first-timers on a tight schedule, for kids (it’s less bumpy than the Bayahíbe safari), and for couples wanting a morning activity that leaves the afternoon free for the beach. Min age 6.
